February 6, 2026 — Leads & Copy — TotalEnergies has entered into agreements to acquire a 42.5% operated interest in the PEL104 Exploration license, offshore Namibia.
The agreement is with Eight Offshore Investments Holdings (“Eight”) and Maravilla Oil & Gas.
Upon completion of the transaction, TotalEnergies will operate the license with a 42.5% interest, alongside Petrobras (42.5%), Namcor (10%) and Eight (5%).
The PEL104 license, located in the Lüderitz basin, covers approximately 11,000 km2 offshore Namibia.
Nicolas Terraz, President Exploration & Production at TotalEnergies, said that TotalEnergies is pleased to expand its portfolio and continue exploring Namibia’s resources to benefit the country and stakeholders. This follows the acquisition in December of a 40% operated interest in the PEL83 license.
The transaction is subject to approvals from Namibian authorities and joint venture partners.
TotalEnergies has been present in Namibia since 1964 and employs 55 people. It is also the 4th largest fuel distributor in the country, with 43 service stations. The Company is seeking local opportunities to develop low carbon projects in line with its multi-energy strategy.
