NEO Battery Materials (TSXV:NBM) Partners with Korea Institute for Defense Industry

TORONTO, December 23, 2025 — Leads & Copy — NEO Battery Materials Ltd. (TSXV: NBM) (OTC: NBMFF) has partnered with the Korea Institute for Defense Industry (KOIDI) to advance South Korea’s defense sector. The partnership aims to accelerate NEO’s engagement with South Korea’s defense industry ecosystem and deploy advanced battery technology in commercial drones and UAS via a Joint Task Force (JTF). The company has forged inroads with Korean military, government, and defense stakeholders.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) establishes a formal partnership between NEO and KOIDI, a Ministry of National Defense-approved organization. The collaboration seeks to integrate NEO’s silicon-enhanced batteries into defense and unmanned system (UAS) technologies for the Korean military and industry.

To initiate cooperation, NEO and KOIDI will establish a Joint Task Force (JTF) focused on defense drone and UAS applications. The JTF will coordinate activities for military and government intelligence collection, including technical evaluation of NEO’s battery technologies to advance deployment in live, commercial drones and UAS.

According to Mr. Spencer Huh, President & CEO of NEO, the partnership with KOIDI will provide an expedited entry point into South Korea’s defense industry stakeholders. The NEO-KOIDI Joint Task Force aims to align battery development efforts with real-world operational needs in defense drones and UAS by understanding requirements for advanced battery technologies.

The parties will collaborate on defense R&D, technical education, and government-industry initiatives. This framework allows NEO to engage directly with a nationally recognized defense industry organization and gain visibility into performance needs relevant to South Korean defense and security programs.
