MAX Power Partners with PTRC for Natural Hydrogen Program in Saskatchewan

SASKATOON, Saskatchewan — October 10, 2025 — Leads & Copy — MAX Power Mining Corp. is collaborating with the Petroleum Technology Research Centre (PTRC) to establish Canada’s first deep subsurface Natural Hydrogen program, aiming to make Saskatchewan a global leader in Natural Hydrogen exploration and development. The collaboration seeks to advance sustainable energy innovation through the exploration and potential development of Natural Hydrogen resources in the province. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between MAX Power and PTRC is effective immediately and will guide collaborative work over the next three years.

The collaboration will leverage PTRC’s Energy Innovation Hub Labs for advanced analytical techniques for Natural Hydrogen reservoirs. PTRC’s expertise in subsurface reservoir characterization will be applied, drawing on decades of leadership in CO₂ storage, geothermal energy, Enhanced Oil Recovery, and compressed air energy storage (CAES). PTRC will also provide geological support through core testing, mapping, and rock mechanical work.

MAX Power CEO Mansoor Jan expressed honor in collaborating with PTRC, citing their reputation in clean energy and expertise in subsurface geology. PTRC President and CEO Ranjith Narayanasamy added that PTRC is eager to support Natural Hydrogen in Saskatchewan, utilizing their subsurface expertise with CO₂ storage, geothermal, and CAES.

PTRC brings more than 20 years of subsurface expertise and clean energy research to MAX Power, providing third party validation for Canada’s most extensive Natural Hydrogen program. As a provincially connected research institution with deep ties to both industry and educational institutions in Saskatchewan, PTRC brings a level of technical oversight and institutional credibility that is unparalleled in Saskatchewan – significantly de-risking MAX Power’s exploration efforts and strengthening its position as Canada’s leader in this new clean energy frontier.
