COTTBUS, Germany and BERLIN — November 7, 2025 — Leads & Copy — LEAG Clean Power GmbH and Fluence Energy GmbH will construct Europe’s largest battery energy storage system, a 1 GW / 4 GWH system, in Jänschwalde, Germany.
The GigaBattery Jänschwalde 1000 project will utilize Fluence’s advanced energy storage solution, Smartstack™.
Adi Roesch, CEO of the LEAG Group, stated that the project ignites another growth engine for their GigawattFactory and addresses the challenge of ensuring constant energy availability regardless of renewable energy availability.

The German government has reaffirmed the critical role of energy storage for a secure, affordable, and sustainable power system.
