Toronto, Ontario — November 1, 2025 — Leads & Copy — Canada hosted the 9th Ministerial on Climate Action (MoCA9) in Toronto, Ontario, from October 31 to November 1, convening ministers and key partners to discuss climate action in advance of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30) in Belém, Brazil. Discussions focused on mobilizing climate finance, facilitating the transition to low-carbon economies, implementing real-world solutions, and enhancing outcomes at COP30.
The MoCA meetings, co-convened by Canada, China, and the European Union, aim to advance climate action under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Paris Agreement.
Minister Julie Dabrusin emphasized Canada’s commitment to a low-carbon economy, highlighting the opportunities for job creation and climate resilience through clean energy initiatives.
COP30 will be held in Belém, Brazil, from November 10 to 21, 2025. Canada has provided over $8.7 billion in climate finance since 2015 to support the Paris Agreement’s US$100 billion goal.
